I like Math. I find sheer pleasure in arriving at an exact answer after knowing my X and Y. Okay, I’ll stop before you walked out my blog. I know that not all of us likes Math. The usual notion is that “I hate Math.” But I don’t think that’s the case, it’s only a mindset. If that person has learned the basics, he/she will have the confidence to take on Math problems. Back at school, I have a friend who had difficulty in our Math subject, but when we got the chance to be seatmates, she will ask me to explain our topic for the day and we’ll have this coaching session. Finally, she learned algebra and said, it’s very easy after all. After that, she’s the one helping her friends with our Math assignments.
Kids these days are very fortunate because they are offered learning programs to help them with their education such as Singapore Math.
Singapore math is a teaching method based on the national mathematics curriculum used for kindergarten through sixth grade in Singapore. The term was originally coined in the U.S. to describe an approach, originally developed in Singapore, to teaching students to learn and master fewer mathematical concepts at greater detail as well as having them learn these concepts using a three-step learning process. – from Wikipedia

When Jeff and I became parents, we’ve come to the point that we worry about our daughter’s future. We’d like to live longer so that we can still guide her even if she became independent. In order for us to live a longer life, we should take care of our health as early as now. As they say, being healthy should be a lifestyle, not just a fad. Robinsons Supermarket helps us in our wellness journey through its #ILoveWellness campaign.

As a first time mommy, I have overwhelming photos of Gwen. Every second, every move, every yawn, every smile, I took photos. All of her milestones were captured by either our digital camera or by our phones. After being snap-happy with our gadgets, then it’s time to store it in our laptop, edit a few photos and upload it our social media accounts. The other photos, edited and unedited, were saved in an external hard drive. Before, Jeff also transfers the files into a CD, but our laptop’s CD drive is not functioning anymore. And I don’t think the CDs will be helpful in the future too because USBs are now used instead of CDs. I also changed phones over the years and some photos from the old phone were erased because the phone’s memory is already full. Some years worth of memories are now just snippets in my mind.
My point is, technology is ever changing, no matter how many backups and no matter how many cloud storage you have, our digital files might vanish one day. This happened with my photos over Multiply and Friendster, I have important photos there that I can no longer view. If only I spent time and money to have those photos printed out.

In the Kitchen will be the category where I will post some of the recipes I cook for my family. I promise you these are super-duper easy recipes because I’m really not an expert in the kitchen plus the fact that I don’t want recipes with so many steps/how-tos. Just 4-6 instructions, anything more than that, I skip the page of my recipe book and look for simpler recipes. So newbies in the kitchen, I hope you’ll try my recipes or suggestions and let’s share kitchen secrets!
We just stayed home this weekend, we thought it’s a payday Friday and some malls are having their sale so traffic will be hellish. Gwen’s new yaya is on a day-off, and honestly, we’re not sure if she’s a keeper. Gwen is not warming up to her new Ate even if it’s already a month, and I also don’t feel free moving around the house when she’s in it.
That’s why this weekend, I was in the mood to freely move in the kitchen, yay! Didn’t you notice that food is always associated with whatever the mood we’re in? In my case, I want to celebrate my momentary freedom with my family, hence I cooked Brown Sugar Pork Belly inspired by the Mood Food cookbook, a collaboration of Russell Hobbs and Chef JP Anglo.
