Last November, 2019, we celebrated the National Gifted Week that aims to nurture the gift of every child. The highlight was the Kite Flying Event spearheaded by the Philippine Center for Gifted Education, Inc. (PCGE) in partnership with Promil Four and with support from the Kite Association of the Philippines.
A child’s imagination is limitless, you will be surprised how far-fetched and very vivid their imagination can be. But let them be, sabi nga ni Albert Einstein, Imagination is more important than knowledge.
When we got this 3D Pop-Up Theater, I knew that Gwen’s imagination will run wild.
Another activity that Gwen got busy last summer was attending Beginners Hip-hop classes at G-Force Dance Center Alabang in Festival Mall. Last year pa sana nyang gustong mag-try sa G-Force kaya lang akala ko kasi mahal. Yun pala, yung nakita ko last time is for their workshop with Dance Recital. But thanks to Gwen’s friend, Lora, we learned that they have OPEN CLASSES pala. Open classes mean you just pay for the 1 hour session, which is Php 450 if you pay the same day, or an early bird rate of Php 350 if you book your class 2 days in advance.
The summer holidays are nearly upon us! And with six weeks or more to entertain the kids, it’s not always going to be plain sailing…I’m sure at some point during your summer break you’re going to hear the words “I’m bored” …so, you need to start thinking ahead and planning what activities you’re going to do to keep the children busy.
Here’s another fun summer activity for the kids especially if they love to draw and paint. After my Planaforma class in Molito Alabang, we checked out Sip & Gogh if they have summer workshops for kids. Sip & Gogh is a one-of-a-kind paint and sip studio where people can paint while sipping drinks, hence the name. The staff showed me the schedule and they are now in Batch 3. Since we’re already there and Gwen really wanted to paint, I asked if they have a one-time painting session. Luckily, they do!
For Php 1,000, you can have a one-on-one painting session for 2 hours with an artist plus the materials you’ll need such as apron rental, paint, and canvas. The fee includes snacks too.
It’s the final stretch of the school year, I am rejoicing because that means we can finally sleep longer in the mornings! As for summer workshops, Gwen attended the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew last summer and she enjoyed it a lot, I bet she’ll join again this year. She also had Hip-hop classes for the month of May. So this summer 2019, I will let her choose between proper swimming classes (because there’s one in Vermosa, Cavite), hip-hop, and McDo Kiddie Crew.
