Meet Jessica, Gwen’s new playmate

July 16, 2012 5 Comments

Happy Monday! How’s your weekend?

I’d like you to meet Jessica, Gwen’s new playmate and Gwen’s first doll.

Jessica, a Goldberger doll, Php 699.75 at Toy Kingdom

We were at The Great Northern Sale yesterday and thought of buying Gwen a new toy. Sure, she has plenty of plush toys but all of them are animals and cartoon characters like Stitch and Minnie Mouse. I gave her one so that we can also use it as “pang-uto” whenever she does not like to drink her milk or eat. We would make her mimic what the doll will do (well, I hope it does the trick).

Jessica is a Goldberger doll, it’s machine-washable, just remove the battery before washing. Her only trick is she laughs when her tummy is pressed.

On a side note, I just realized how expensive children’s toys nowadays! I really wanted Baby Alive but I think over a thousand pesos for a doll is too much. My Barbie dolls were priced below 500 pesos according to Nanay eons ago. Now, toys are almost the same price of titanium rings. Another thing that kept me from buying uber expensive toy for Gwen is because she easily gets bored with her toy. When it’s new, she’ll play with it nonstop but wait for a few days, even hours, and you’ll eventually see her throw the once “new” toy.

Do you buy your kids expensive toys? What are your limits in indulging your kids?

Hi Misis B! Ako, I don’t. Kasi like you, I don’t find it practical. Pero their daddy does sometimes. Tsaka true, madali sila magsawa.

I only buy Summer expensive toys on special occassions i.e. her birthday and Christmas. I bought her a Baby Alive doll on her 2nd birthday, priced at Php 1999.99. She doesn’t play with it anymore. But we preserve it dahil jusko P2k yun! Lol. šŸ™‚ Last Chritmas, we got her a Fisherprice laptop. It’s educational and still uses it now. As for normal days, we just buy her cheapipay toys. Lol. šŸ™‚

[…] Dolls and Plush Toys – Kids can use them for the pretend play, again, one great way to improve their imagination. […]
