My little Indian girl in a tutu (DIY Indian costume)

November 6, 2012 9 Comments

I’m back! We just came back from sunny Boracay and as much as I’d like to post all the things that happened, I still have a lot of backlogs. So before our vacation, allow me to start to post about the trick or treat activities before we left.

From my DIY Halloween costumes post, I got inspired by the girl’s tutu and decided to make one for Gwen. She will be a glamorized Indian, hehe… Thank God for YouTube, making a no-sew tutu is easy-peasy! It’s so easy I wanna make tutus in all colors. All you need are tulle fabric, scissors, garter or ribbon, watch and follow this No Sew Tutu tutorial and voila!

DIY No Sew Tutu

For the top, I bought wool fabric and hand sewn the asymmetrical top (I got the pattern by tracing Gwen’s clothes). I had to redo it twice though, because her nipples were sticking out on the first one and it’s too tight. Jeff also helped by sewing a velcro at the sides for easier access. The feathers on the head gear is from my Nanay’s and neighbor’s frontyard (nalagas lang).

Know what, my friend also made a tutu for her little girl’s baby dedication, and she couldn’t stop herself from making just one. She said it was so addicting 🙂
