Casa Chronicles: Part 01

March 12, 2017 30 Comments

It’s been a while since I shared something personal here. It’s really hard especially now that Gwen is growing up and I just can’t share everything about her. Yes, we have this filter thing going on. Remember what I told you last January about the adulting part? Well, it finally began…

We are doing some improvements and building our house in Cavite. The house doesn’t have partitions for the rooms and is almost bare so it will be a lot of work. Basically, it looks like a house on the outside pero sa loob walang laman.

It took us almost 9 or 10 years to finally do something about the house. I really don’t want to leave Caloocan but Gwen is growing up and I think it’s best for all of us to live in a nice subdivision in a suburb where the air is fresher.

3 years ago, we already talked to a contractor who will make the house. But there are red flags tapos parang we feel that something’s not right kaya hindi natuloy. Jeff and I were not satisfied with the contractor kaya we let it pass. Now, we already got an engineer with the help of our friends and every thing went smooth. Sabi nga, things happen and don’t happen for a reason, and everything will be in God’s own time.

We’re already on Week 2. Metal furrings, gypsum boards, tiles, etc. ang nasa isip namin these days. Yung “closet” na iniisip ko, hindi yung lagayan ng damit… “water closet” as in toilet bowl. Yung mall namin ngayon, Wilcon Depot, CW Depot, etc.

Sabi nga ni Jeff, it’s stressful pero masaya. I admire my husband because he’s very meticulous when it comes to the materials we are going to use for the house. As in he will read about the reviews of different brands, track down the suppliers, etc. Kahit siguro yung screw at pako na gagamitin, igu-Google muna nya kung okay, hahaha. Plus pogi points na naman 🙂

We’re hoping to move in by summer. After that, school hunting naman for Gwen’s school although there’s a school just in front of the subdivision. She’s also excited to go swimming in the clubhouse and play at the playground.

If I went MIA again, that means I’m busy mixing cement okay :p

I can relate. My husband is too meticulous as well. When our house was made he had to agree for the contractor to do the house without him because we were abroad. When we got back and he wanted to redo some things.haha at least your husband is getting what he wants fr the money he is paying. 🙂

Congratulations! How exciting! Pero ang layo ang tinalon niyo ha haha! From North to South. I’m familiar with Cavite, went to university there. 🙂

Anyway, dapat naman talaga metikuloso lalo sa inyo ang house, haha. mas nakakatamad maging detalyado when it’s not yours.

I can relate much. If you are building ako naman in the process of renovating and repairing. Owning a house is such a huge responsibilty but seeing your efforst (and money) afterwards is really rewarding. Good luck and tell us about it once done.

We also have a townhouse in Cavite! Making renovations is really stressful I can relate. Pareho tayo ng ginawa sa partitions. My hubby is the one doing the construction kasi may background sya sa paggawa ng mga bahay. We didn’t move in yet, but we have it rented muna. Mahirap nga andame mong decisions na kelangan gawin. But I hope in time makalipat din kame dun. Baka magkita tayo jan somewhere in Cavite kapag nakalipat na din kame.
