A blessed day

March 20, 2011 Leave a Comment

March 19, 2011, Jessica Gwen Siazon was welcomed to the Christian world. It was a very busy yet one of the happiest days of our lives because it’s another milestone for us being parents. Families and friends were there to celebrate with us and I feel very very blessed to know that some friends really went their way to go to our event. Friends also helped in taking pictures since we’re too busy carrying Gwen and handling the guests.

All set for baptism

March 11, 2011 3 Comments

We’re all set for Gwen’s christening on Saturday. It will be held at Malate Church, the church is close to my heart because this is also the church where I was baptized. Too bad they only have communal baptism, we wanted a special baptism but I guess it doesn’t matter. I would have wanted to make her baptism extra special by looking for caterers, special venue, unique souvenirs, etc. but due to time constraints, I settled for a Christening package at Max’s restaurant. Aside from the food, package also includes the cake, invites, balloons and free use of venue for 2 hours. The package also includes 25 pcs. cookies souvenirs but I opted to add my own give-aways that’s why I’m searching over Multiply right now.

For those who want to have their child’s baptism at Malate Church, here are the requirements:

  • Photocopy of child’s Birth Certificate duly registered at the City Hall or NSO.
  • Registration form which you can download here
  • Registration fee is Php 250
  • Parents MUST attend the seminar at 5 PM held every Friday or Saturday before the baby’s baptism

I suggest going to Malate Church at Friday or Saturday at 4 pm for the registration and continue with the seminar afterwards.

I’m excited for Gwen’s baptism, I already bought her dress and of course mine too! I’d like to shop for new shoes though as I can’t wear the new womens boots I bought in HK.

Sleeping habit

March 2, 2011 Leave a Comment

We are so glad and relieved that Gwen’s sleeping habit is now fine. She still doesn’t sleep through the night, though, but she sleeps between 9 to 10 pm and wakes up at 3 am and 5 am to feed. I’m more than happy with that than her not sleeping at night. I’m a happy camper too because I can have my beauty rest too…

Just when Gwen’s sleeping habit is ok, I still have a bigger problem to tackle, finding a yaya…

Looking at the calendar, I’m surprised that next week will be Ash Wednesday already. How time flies, and soon it will be Holy Week. We observe Holy Week solemnly, others regard Easter Sunday as a celebration. How about you? Do you treat Easter Sunday as extra special and conduct parties and even prepare for easter decorations under $20?

Yaya dilemma again…

February 26, 2011 Leave a Comment

Gwen’s yaya started last January 16 but already bid goodbye today because her 1-year-old daughter is sick. I even offered that she can go home for a week at our expense to take care of her daughter but she declined. Her husband and mother-in-law also want her back home. I just feel sad because Yaya Cris is nice and caring for Gwen. She can lull my baby to sleep and carry her longer than I can do.

And the search for a yaya continues… we need it badly because I’m supposed to return to work yesterday. I just wish that Gwen will behave and won’t be as fussy as before especially at night so that I can get some rest. I’m preparing myself for another round of sleepless nights, no need to diet because I need plenty of energy.

Baby’s first nail cut

January 27, 2011 Leave a Comment

Along with Gwen’s first month, it’s also her first nail cut. At the nursery, she already scratched her face that’s why we make it a point that her mittens are always intact 24/7. Surprisingly, she can manage to remove her mittens once in a while. Her fingernails are long, so on her first month, Daddy prepared for her first nail cut…

Nurse anywhere, anytime

January 24, 2011 Leave a Comment

So this is a first for me, nursing in public. As a breastfeeding momma, I thought it will be hard to do thinking the glaring stares I will get from people. Thank God for creations like nursing covers, I won this Next 9 nursing cover from The 24 Hour Mommy last year. Now, I can nurse discreetly even in malls. But I hope more malls will put up breastfeeding stations like the one in SM Mall of Asia.

Just choose a quiet spot and less crowded spot in the malls when feeding your baby. In my case, I sat in the comfy chairs of Kamiseta, lol! But that’s because I shopped there first and asked them if I can sit for a while…

Excuse my large thighs. Now back to the photo, can you spot baby Gwen?
