4 reasons why the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3635 is the perfect printer for the family

January 25, 2016 14 Comments

When your kids are in school, it is a must that as parents, we will provide them all the necessary materials and tools as support with their studies. The demands of schoolwork is very challenging, both on the side of the parents and students. Hindi sapat ang moral support for our kids, dapat we have to provide them the right tools to aid in their studies like laptop and reliable Internet connection for their research and assignments. One thing that is often overlooked is having a printer at home. Maybe because of budget constraints or the notion that it’s cheaper to have the files printed at an Internet cafe rather than printing it at home. I think it’s time to rethink and read about HP’s newest All-in-One printer and why it’s the perfect printer for the whole family.

I’m an HP user since my college years and was satisfied with it that I never tried other brands. 3 years ago, I also reviewed HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5525 e-All-in-One Printer. Now, another HP printer model arrived, it’s the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3635 All-in-One printer.

Gwen’s Recognition Day + Multiple Intelligence Tweet & Win is back!

April 14, 2015 27 Comments

It was Gwen’s Recognition Day last March 25, 2015. Gwen’s classes ended a week before that and her adviser said that they will just call if the student will attend the recognition day. The recognition day will be just for pre-school students who will be incoming Grade 1 and Junior Kinder students who have special awards and honors. To tell you honestly, we weren’t expecting that we will be called for the recognition day. Just the fact that Gwen finished the school year is a BIG accomplishment for us! If you know my struggles….Gwen had a serious case of separation anxiety, so for the first three months, I needed to accompany her inside the classroom. And for the rest of the year, si Ate Rose naman ang kasama sa loob ng classroom. There was a time na nagpapaiwan na, but after that long Christmas vacation, ayaw na ulit magpaiwan sa loob.

But despite that, Gwen still showed enthusiasm to learn. She actively participates in their activities, kaya nga her adviser told us na wag patigilin sa school kasi gusto naman mag-aral. We thought of pulling her out na kasi because of her separation anxiety. Buti na lang Teacher Airene advised us not to and just let Ate Rose inside their room if that will appease her.

Gwen was consistent in being one of the top students in class, o ha! From first to fourth quarter, it’s either 2nd or 3rd honor. She also participated in the school’s Reading contest and Math Quiz Bee. Yung Reading, CVC words lang naman because the school specializes in reading.

Anyway, March 25 came and it’s Recognition Day.

Exam week, two projects plus a bonus worksheet

August 18, 2014 2 Comments

It’s exam week for my preschooler. While I’m pretty cool and calm about it, we don’t want to put pressure on Gwen. She’s in Junior Kinder, or Nursery, or Preschool, or whatever you call it. First day of exam is Science and Reading, second day is Math and Language. My student is ready but the parents aren’t. Imagine, aside from having a sort of refresher for the exams, her teachers gave 2 projects in one week. Submission dates for the project is 2 days apart but still??? exam week and two projects??? A word wheel and an animal face mask.

Good thing Daddy is the meticulous, crafty, and patient one, hehe. Seriously, these projects aren’t for 3-year-olds. Here’s the finished product of Gwen’s CVC Word Wheel. I’ll try to come up with a tutorial soon.

Preschool separation anxiety: How to deal?

June 30, 2014 1 Comment

3 weeks of going to school and Gwen still has separation anxiety. Remember my post about her getting excited during the first week?

Read: First day of Junior Kinder

On the first 3 days of going to school, we had no problem. She’s really excited and goes to school willingly. On the 4th day, yaya Rose said that her classmate is crying nonstop and then Gwen suddenly joined the crying fest. Now, that little girl is no longer crying but that incident might have activated the separation anxiety switch on Gwen. On the second week until now, we’re always thinking of new tricks, bribes, and rewards just to get her to school. She doesn’t want me to go out the room, and she only wants ME, she doesn’t like Yaya Rose but ME inside the room.

First day of Junior Kinder

June 10, 2014 8 Comments

I know you’ve seen a lot of first day high posts yesterday from your Facebook feeds. Nakaka-excite naman talaga! I took a leave from work yesterday, just to see Gwen on her first day. I also have to show and give Yaya Rose instructions on how to go about on the coming days if dalawa na lang sila ni Gwen. It’s a different school from where Gwen was enrolled last year but didn’t push through.

Looks like Gwen will enjoy her school this year. Her primary request is that it’s a big school kasi big girl na raw sya. And she likes to ride the tricycle. Well, her request granted, the tricycle part. For the school, it’s still a small school for kinder students that uses Montessori-style of instruction.

Here’s my Junior Kinder in uniform.

Just got lucky with Maped

June 5, 2014 14 Comments

Last month, I was at National Bookstore in Trinoma to look for coloring materials for Gwen. Bali-bali na kasi crayons nya, kakabili lang bali agad o kaya tanggal na yung label. I was looking for other alternatives like colored pens, etc. A girl wearing a Maped shirt approached me and talked me into buying Maped items. For every Php 250 worth of items single receipt daw, I will get a freebie and 1 raffle coupon. The raffle prize is a Jansport backpack filled with Maped items. I’m not really excited about the raffle because I’m not that lucky, as in!

Anyway, I bought the Maped  Colorpeps Smart Plastic Crayons Maxi and Colored Pencils. We love using the Smart Plastic Crayons because it does not break easily. Imagine, 1 month nang gamit ni Gwen, wala pang nabali! And the colors are really vibrant, yummy to look at. The names are really cool too, like Blush, Aubergine, etc.

Cool color names
