Human Heart Nature products we love

May 18, 2014 8 Comments

My family prefers natural and organic products, we choose this whenever there’s an option like in vegetables, juices, vitamins and even personal care products. We always check out Healthy Options because that’s a one-stop shop for those looking for healthier alternatives on food and also beauty products. But there’s one Filipino brand that I truly support since they started. I remember my first purchase was their shampoo and conditioner.

Human Heart Nature has grown from personal care products, they now have make-ups too and can be bought online and also at Beauty Bar and other specialty stores in malls like Sesou Nature Source in Trinoma (where I always buy my stash).

My favorite products as of late is Human Heart Nature Kids Natural Shampoo and Body Wash and All Natural Spray Sanitizer.

Trick or Treat 2013: Dora the Explorer costume

October 27, 2013 6 Comments

After planning to be a minion, a Lalaloopsy or a cute ice cream for Halloween, none of these three choices materialized. Ganun kagulo isip ko, haha. Well, I was prepared for Gwen’s minion costume but when I fitted her yellow clothes and jumper, medyo fail plus Jeff said making a realistic minion goggles will be a challenge (and another challenge for making Gwen wear it).

I’m really this close into buying the ice cream costume at SM but Marsy encouraged me to DIY. She sent me a tutorial for the wig should I decide for a Lalaloopsy costume. Kaya lang wala na talaga akong time sis.

So for this year’s Trick or Treat, it’s Gwen the Explorer!

DIY Minion, DIY Lalaloopsy or BUY

October 23, 2013 4 Comments

It’s Halloween once again. If you’re following my halloween posts in the past years, medyo kina-career ko talaga ang costume. Not because may prize or I want Gwen to be Best in Costume, I just enjoy thinking and making her costumes. Nasusulit naman kasi namin ang costume, aside from the trick or treat in the office, nagti-trick or treat din sya sa kung saan kami magbabakasyon. And this year, for the 3rd time, Boracay ulit, promise last Boracay na namin to…

  • Trick or treat in Boracay 2012 – Gwen as an Indian

Trick or treat in the office will be on Friday na, and I’m still at lost with the costume. Medyo fail yung costume na naisip ko… 🙁

I asked Gwen if she wants to be a minion, she said Yes! So I thought a DIY Minion costume will be easy. A jumper, yellow leggings, yellow long sleeved shirt, yellow beanie, gloves, boots and goggles, and voila! I tried putting them on together earlier, medyo off eh… The yellow hues do not match 🙁 Plus, we have no idea how to make a realistic minion goggles.

DIY Minion Costume, fail naman 🙁

Tiger Balm Insect Repellent Spray

October 7, 2013 9 Comments

Mosquitoes at home are getting immune on Giga Baby Insect Repellant Spray, I used this for Gwen for more than a year. So I tried other brands but I haven’t found one that isn’t sticky. When I bought diapers wand wipes at SM, I found this Tiger Balm Insect Repellent Spray.

Eyes on your baby

August 14, 2013 10 Comments

You all know that I’m not big on baby gadgets and high-tech baby gears, I prefer just a simple umbrella stroller than oversized high-tech ones, and I’d choose a few hundred bucks of baby tub over an expensive fancy tub. I’m all about being practical because all these things will be used by Gwen only for a short time. But there are things that are worth investing, one of which is about our baby’s safety.

Have you ever considered buying a baby monitor? Or did you include this on your Mommy checklist when you were pregnant? Honestly, it was not included in my list, and I thought that it’s something that I cannot afford. True enough, baby monitors at Baby Company starts at over 10k-peso-price-point. So for us who is saving for my pregnancy/delivery, it was not our priority.

Later on, wait, let me rephrase that, after several yaya mishaps, Jeff felt the need to have a CCTV camera installed in our home so that we can check on Gwen and her yaya while we’re at work. When Gwen was 5 months old, she had this big scratch on her head (malapit sa bumbunan, and she’s only 5 months then), I immediately asked her yaya what happened. Aba naman, sagot lang nung yaya, hindi nya raw alam. Ganun kalaki, di nya alam kung ano nangyari?! Don’t worry, that yaya only stayed with us for about a month…she’s one bad yaya. If only we had a CCTV, I would know what really caused that.

So when I was introduced to this nifty baby gadget that lets you see and monitor your baby through your smartphones, Ipads and laptops, I knew that this is something we need. This is Baby Vision Wireless Baby Monitor.

Mommy Patch Body Dusting Powder review

August 1, 2013 8 Comments

Last week, Gwen developed rashes on her bum. Since she was born, she never had skin problems like this because her skin is not that sensitive. I don’t know what happened to her skin, but maybe it’s because of the meds she was taking last week because of her cough (antibiotics + cough syrup) that made her urine react to her bum’s skin. Aside from applying Drapolene every nappy change, I also applied Johnson’s baby powder.

While I was shopping at Sesou in Trinoma for Gwen’s insect repellant spray, I got curious with Mommy Patch Body Dusting Powder, it’s talc-free and paraben-free.
