Bits and pieces

September 19, 2011 Leave a Comment

Life is too short to dwell on negative things. Life is too short to harbor hatred and grudge.

Forgive and forget easily. Move forward.

It’s difficult to let a day pass with a heavy heart.

When dealing with problems, focus on how to solve
it. Do not look for its cause nor search for someone to blame.

Sometimes, no matter how OC you are, things will be out of your control.

Though a cliche, everything happens for a reason.

Count your blessings, open your eyes to the countless sources of joy.

Ignore the negativities, be positive.

It is how you react that defines your life.

BERy excited

September 9, 2011 Leave a Comment

Ages ago, Mother’s Day doesn’t excite me, ooops, sorry Nanay. But when I became a mom, I got excited that I’m going to have a special day dedicated for me. And it’s fun to celebrate occasions with Jeff and now with Gwen. This Christmas, I’m doubly excited because 3 days before Christmas, it’ll be Gwen’s first birthday! I won’t mind if I don’t receive christmas gifts for mom, Gwen will be the star this year…

Dream house

July 15, 2011 2 Comments

When I was still young, I would draw my own vision of my dream house. I remember I doodled a tall house with several floors and several rooms for special purposes like TV room, guest room, etc. Fast forward, we’re glad that our parents helped us in acquiring our own house in Cavite. Unfortunately, it’s too far from our work so we have to stay at my parents’ house, Caloocan to Quezon City is a more practical route.

Another thing is that the house in Cavite is still bare, with no partitions. We already talked to some designers but we can’t afford their rates yet. Plus, our design ideas are always changing.

If only there are affordable manufactured homes for sale near Quezon City, we could have lived on our own dream house too.

What’s your dream house?

Next trip: Boracay

July 11, 2011 Leave a Comment

After the Singapore trip, what I’m looking forward is our Boracay trip on November, in time for my birthday. I don’t know yet if we will celebrate my birthday (November 1) in Boracay or in our town in Aklan together with my family.

Jeff and I talked about things to look forward to, because of our mind-draining work, a quick getaway is a must once in a while. And now that we’re back to work, we can’t help but think about the next trip.

Boracay will be Gwen’s second flight and second beach getaway. I’m excited to try new things together with our little one, building sandcastles, watching the sunset, riding ATVs with RZR XP Accessories, going to Mt. Luho, etc.

How about you? Where’s your next trip? What are the things you look forward to this year?

Get insured

June 3, 2011 1 Comment

When I was still single, I already got a Sun Life life insurance plan and a Loyola pension plan. It was a good thing that I started to save for myself early on because most of our earnings now go to Gwen’s immunizations (*sigh*). But I still have to resume the Loyola plan because I wasn’t able to pay the premium for two consecutive years after they moved their office and also stopped sending their collector to our office. If budget permits, I’m planning to persuade Jeff on getting his own term life insurance too. It’s not that important when he’s still single but having a family that relies on him is a different and serious matter.

First trip

May 21, 2011 1 Comment

Gwen’s first out of town trip at 4 months. We brought Gwen to our company outing at Kabayan Beach Resort, Laiya, Batangas. It’s a 3-day trip only but I found that traveling with a baby is quite a task, especially with packing all the essentials. We almost brought our house, check out the photo below, we brought 3 bags. Can you guess where’s Gwen’s bag?

all our bags are packed

Well, the black Salomon bag is Jeff’s, it only contains some essentials and few pieces of parish clothing. The red bag is mine and, the biggest bag belongs to Gwen. The yellow duffle bag has clothes, diapers, clothes, baby bottles and her bottle sterilizer. We almost brought her bath tub, lol!
