E-Passport Application for Infants

May 15, 2011 15 Comments

We applied for Gwen’s passport last week. We’re lucky to find an earlier schedule for passport application for her passport to be released just in time for our Singapore trip on July. Our appointment is at 5:00 pm, but we’re already there at 4:30 pm and proceeded with the process, we’re finished after 30 minutes.

Requirements for passport application of infants/minor are minimal:

  1. NSO authenticated birth certificate – I requested Gwen’s birth certificate via NSO Birth Certificate Delivery.
  2. Passport of both parents, original and photocopy
  3. Personal appearance of minor with either parent
  4. Marriage certificate, original and photocopy

Gwen’s passport will be released on June 13 since they don’t accept rush applications. Regular passport processing is Php 950. Passport delivery is additional Php 120.

I’m so excited for our first family trip, the three of us. I’ll take lots of pictures of Universal Studios, steel buildings around Singapore, food trips and shopping at Orchard Road for Gwen to see once she grows up.

Holy week staycation

April 25, 2011 4 Comments

During Holy Week, we just went on a staycation and enjoyed the peaceful Manila. I just went to our parish church for the Way of the Cross on Holy Thursday. In the afternoon, I just cooked dynamite sticks as requested by Jeff, he missed my cooking already. On Good Friday,  didn’t have anything to do so we decided to head to my in-laws in Las Pinas. Surprisingly, no traffic at all and it only took us an hour to reach Las Pinas. While my in-laws we’re really happy to see Gwen, the baby was crying non-stop. Maybe because of the noisy environment with all her cousins and relatives around or maybe due to the hot weather because of the absence of dehumidifiers in the house. We can’t bear her crying any longer so we spent the night at the nearby hotel, Eurotel. And just like that, Gwen enjoyed the peacefulness and slept soundly. A high-maintenance spoiled baby…

Best gift for the best mom

April 6, 2011 Leave a Comment

Nanay’s birthday is fast approaching, she’ll be turning 65 this year. Despite her age, she’s still strong and able to do most things, especially taking care of Gwen. She’s been there with us since I gave birth, she does the laundry, cooks for us, and most of all, takes care of Gwen. She endured all of these because of her love for her beloved granddaughter. That’s why I wanted to give mother of pearl giftson her birthday, as a sign of appreciation for all the love she had shown. I know she deserved more than that, and we will be forever grateful that we have my nanay by our side.

Traveling with baby

March 16, 2011 Leave a Comment

When I got pregnant, I knew that my itchy wandering feet will come to a halt once baby is born. Well, I cheated once last month when Jeff and I went to Hong Kong but that’s because our promo tickets from Cebu Pacific are non-refundable and non-rebookable. But after that, I promised Gwen that I won’t leave her anymore. In case we have to travel, I have to take Gwen with me.

Since it’s summer time once again, everybody is planning for their beach destinations. If we’re still childless, we would have planned to go to a secluded island with long travel time. But with baby around, it will be different. I just want a simple getaway in a nearby beach resort probably 2 to 3 hours drive from Manila. I don’t want Gwen to be uncomfortable to bumpy plane rides, I’ve heard infants cry inside the plane in the past.

One perfect beach resort will be Acuatico Beach Resort in Laiya, San Juan, Batangas. Just looking at the site spells S-U-M-M-E-R!
