Lock & Lock Event

August 17, 2012 8 Comments

Weeks ago, I was luckily invited at the opening of the Lock & Lock store in Araneta Avenue. I was surprised because I thought they can only be found inside department stores. I have plenty of knick-knacks/abubot /anik-anik or whatever you call it that’s why containers from Lock & Lock come in handy. I’m sure mommies and daddies will find pleasure checking out Lock & Lock stores. If you think Lock & Lock products are just limited to lunch boxes and water bottles, well check out other cool products below:

Here’s my Lock & Lock loot that afternoon:

Happiness in a bottle

April 8, 2012 2 Comments

Happy Easter Sunday! Hope you are all well-rested and refreshed from holidays, one more day and off to our daily grind.

Easter Sunday marks a new beginning and what better way to start a day with a room that smells divine. Our room is smelling fresh and citrusy since last week,  thanks to Zen Zest. I was given a fragrance diffuser in Happiness at their event two weeks ago.

DIY: Stickers for your kids’ bedroom

March 29, 2012 15 Comments

Gwen’s little corner in our bedroom is getting dull and boring with its white walls. I’ve been wanting to put wall decals but the ones I saw at Youji&Me is pricey for just stickers.

Babyproofing your home

July 15, 2011 3 Comments

When there are babies and kids living in the house, it’s important to make it baby-proof or kid-proof. Kids can go wild with their games sometimes and you can never tell an accident waiting to happen.

Here are some tips on baby proofing your home:

  • Use an electrical output plug to cover electrical outlets. This is available in hardware stores.
  • Soften the edges of furnitures such as tables, cabinets, etc… There are also plastic guards that you can buy in hardwares or department store’s home section.

New furnitures

April 8, 2011 1 Comment

Who said changing rooms is easy? We already moved to our new family room at the second floor (we weren’t able to sleep in here first because of the smell of paint). This room was previously a maid’s room/guest room, but since it will be too difficult for us to go one floor up because of Gwen, we had this repainted and made the room devoid of the old furnishings like the single bed, chairs, etc… We had an empty slate.

We just laid the two mattresses on the floor, we need two because we’re now sleeping horizontally and we don’t want our feet hanging loosely so we added an additional mattress. Aside from the bed, furnishings include 1 cabinet, a dresser, and a fan. So bare that we can even put one or two cocktail table so that we have extra storage for our laptops. It’s so hard to use the laptop without a stable surface.

But one thing that keeps us from buying new furniture is because we’re not using this room permanently. As much as I want to buy this glass side table at Accent Tables Boutique, I just remind myself that I should channel our funds to more useful and important things, like an aircon!

A new appliance

March 23, 2011 Leave a Comment

Since Gwen was born, we’ve been sleeping at my parents’ room since the other room we prepared for baby is still smelly because of the paint. We had it repainted a few weeks before she’s born, major fail because the paint used is not odorless and the room has only a small window. My parents, on the other hand, used our room as a couple located at the rooftop, we simply switched rooms, hehe…

Now, we’re planning to move in to the newly repainted room so that Nanay can go back to theirs. Problem is, the new room is so bare it needs new modern furniture, especially a large bed. We co-sleep with Gwen so a queen or king-sized bed is my choice. Another must-buy for the room is a new air conditioning unit, Gwen sweats a lot and she’s used to sleeping in an air conditioned room (parents’ room). And summer is fast approaching and it’s getting hotter and hotter.

Sigh, need more moolah to cover for additional family needs.
