Gotta love weekends!

July 20, 2015 1 Comment

How’s your long weekend? We had a productive one, especially our Saturday. We usually spend half of our Saturday sleeping, we wake up late around 10 am. I’ll cook our brunch and then hang out in our room, play or watch videos, etc. But things will change a bit from now on, we’ll be starting our Saturday a bit early because Gwen is enrolled in ballet.

The poem I wrote for Nanay in 2006 #BeedasiNanay

May 8, 2015 1 Comment

I can’t put into words a Mother’s Day post for my Nanay, a serious one at that after I wrote 4 Funny and Endearing Facts About Nanay the other day. I was on Facebook waiting for an inspiration when I suddenly remembered that I wrote a Tagalog poem for her when I was still on Xanga. I scoured my email accounts to search for the back-up files. Ang dami kong nahalungkat, LOL!  I blogged on Xanga when I was 20-something, and this poem, based from the archive, is dated May 13, 2006. Sinulat ko rin to para sa Mother’s Day 2006, I don’t know if I made sense, basta don’t judge! So kung 2006 to, I was 24 noon, kaya please wag nyo ko pagtawanan.

4 Funny and Endearing Facts About Nanay

May 6, 2015 26 Comments

Nanay’s birthday is on May 20, she will be turning 69 this year. It’s very timely that her birth month is also the time when all mothers are celebrated all over the world. It’s a tough job but with a lot of love and patience, our mothers become the superheroes of our everyday lives. Oh, I don’t know what my life is like without my Nanay.

Gwen’s first heartbreak

April 27, 2015 25 Comments

Do you remember the TV commercial about the yaya riding a tricycle while her alaga looks out from the window? I’m not sure if it’s for a hotdog or pancit canton commercial, basta I’m searching for it in YouTube and I came across this Rebisco commercial. May ganito rin pala but I’m pretty sure there’s another one hindi ko lang maalala.

Yaya’s meal is the same as ours

April 4, 2015 6 Comments

I’ve been meaning to write a post about the things Ate Rose enjoys as Gwen’s yaya. I’m not being boastful, I just want to show other families with helpers/yayas how to treat nicely the persons who are also taking care of your family. I’m an ill-tempered person, if one thing is not right for me, I easily get pissed. But when it comes with the yaya, kelangan ko muna mag-inhale, exhale before I will tell them nicely what they are supposed to do. Lagi kong iniisip, eh paano kung saktan nila si Gwen pagkatapos ko silang paggalitan? O kaya lasunin ako nyan???

Anyway, Ate Rose has been with us for 2 years, magkasundong-magkasundo sila ni Gwen, parang magkalaro. Sabi nga ni Jeff parang panganay na anak namin si Rose. Since magaan talaga loob namin kay Rose, lagi naman sya sinasama whenever we go out and sometimes, if we scored promo tickets, kasama rin sya sa bakasyon. She was with us in Boracay when I celebrated my birthday, in Baguio, and in Sagada just last year.

December 31, 2014 Leave a Comment

Hello there! We just got back from our Baguio-Sagada sojourn. We wanted to stay in Sagada or Baguio for the New Year but we have commitments with our family that we spend the New Year with them. Right now, we’re at Nanay’s house for the Media Noche and we’re spending the day with Jeff’s family.
