My schoolgirl

April 8, 2013 3 Comments

My 2-year-old will be going to school tomorrow. It’s a summer class for toddlers, we’re just testing if she’s ready for school by June. Aside from that, we’re already running out of things to teach her, hehe. She knows her ABCs, 123s, colors and she got bored watching Barney and singing nursery rhymes. Singing and playing inside the classroom with other kids will help her social skills too.

Before she slept earlier, I showed to her the bag she’ll use. To her excitement, she wore the bag and gamely posed for the camera…

Here’s what I posted on IG (Follow me: @badudets)

Bike weekend

March 16, 2013 16 Comments

The little girl got interested with bikes. Every time she sees her daddy riding his bike to work, she’ll stare at his bike and his helmet. So we let her use her cousin’s bike so that she can practice. Every afternoon, her yaya will look after her outside the house because she wants to bike. After a few weeks, she beams with pride because she can pedal the bike and steer it.

So earlier, we brought her to Quezon Memorial Circle para mas maluwag. The little girl is so happy!

The S and the R

March 4, 2013 Leave a Comment

After typing the title, I suddenly miss S&R, the supermarket hihi, but no, this is about my toddler’s cute vocabulary.

Gwen is very talkative. Some say her vocabulary’s development is ahead of kids her age (she’s 2 yrs. and 2 months old). I enjoy talking to my toddler even if her words are still limited. Every day, I’m surprised of the new words she learned from TV, from Nanay, from her cousins, etc…

I find it cute though that she can’t still pronounce words with S and R. “S” becomes “T” and “R” becomes “W”.

The mommy who has no back-up

February 8, 2013 Leave a Comment

I’m one of those moms who considered Ipads, tablets and smartphones a high-tech nanny. If I have a restless toddler, or we’re in the car and I want her to sit down, or just anytime I want to do something, I hand her my phone. And just like that, Gwen already knew what she’ll look for with a few slides on the screen. It still puzzles me how she learned to open apps and watch videos.

Because of this, Jeff kept reminding me to back-up my files especially photos and videos in case Gwen accidentally deletes it. It’s in my to-do list for the longest time, I swear, but but but….

Earlier, this was displayed on my phone…

All photos and videos got deleted

My princess

January 17, 2013 6 Comments

Gwen is fascinated on being a princess these days. Funny thing is, whenever she sees someone in a dress or flowy skirt, she’ll call it a princess, kahit naka-pambahay o pantulog ka pa basta naka-dress.

Yesterday, we checked out the mini bazaar at ELJ Bldg. and Jeff saw crown trinkets. The daddy insisted that we buy her one.

Now, this is her latest ‘do…

I love you my princess! <3

Let’s count!

December 3, 2012 4 Comments

Gwen started counting a few months back, she championed 1 to 10. We slowly added numbers 11 to 20, and we even taught her to count in Tagalog, isa hanggang sampu.

Now, the little-miss-independent who doesn’t want to be taught can still count….only with some numbers missing. Whenever we try to correct her by interrupting or saying the numbers while she’s counting, she will stop us and say, “Gwen na!”. She will repeat counting all by herself.

So, ladies and gentlemen, let’s hear from our mathematician…

1,2,3 in English:

one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, teeeen! (proud na proud with conviction and a loud voice)

eleven, twelve, FOURTEEN, fifteen, SIXteen, TWENY! (at least slang ang 20!)

I don’t know where did the other numbers go…. yung 13, unlucky number siguro kaya tinanggal na nya =)

Tagalog naman!

Isa, dalawa, ANIM, pito, SIYAM, sampu!

Saan napunta ang 3, 4, 5 at 8?
