Highlights from Toy Kingdom’s Toy Expo 2016

Toy Kingdom is having a Toy Expo 2016 from August 19 to 21 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia. It’s a big event not just for kids but also for toy collectors. We went yesterday since it was Quezon City day (so no work for me). The Toy Expo occupied the 2nd level of SMX so imagine how spacious it is to explore and experience all the toys. It wasn’t crowded when we went because it’s a weekday.

Parent workshops at KidZania Manila

KidZania Manila is one of the coolest things that happened to kids these days. It’s the place where they can act as adults and do big things. Kids aged 4 to 14 years old can explore, discover, and learn about the adult world by taking on role-play activities like working as a firefighter, pilot, doctor, artist, etc. In a nutshell, KidZania is a world for kids and parents should take a back seat. Parents/adults cannot enter the shops and establishments, you just let them roam around while you follow them until you get tired or you have the option to relax at the Sky Zone Parents’ Lounge.

But what about my child’s security, you may ask. Well, KidZania has 16 years of experience of running a safe facility in different countries around the world. CCTV monitoring cameras are in place and all visitors who enter KidZania Manila will be required to wear an RFID (radio frequency identification) security bracelet.

Now that your child’s security is settled, you can go ahead and relax at the Parents’ Lounge and join the Parent Workshops #ParentTalksKZMNL.

When parents think about how to raise their children, there’s one thing they find themselves asking: “How do we teach our kids to become better people?” It’s one of the biggest responsibilities that parents have to their kids, to be able to help them learn how to grow up into responsible adults. But while it all might seem fairly straightforward, anyone who’s ever raised children will tell you that it can be quite difficult to steer them down the right path.

One strategy parents often turn to is using games to teach kids. Games, whether they’re board games, card games, or video games, have always been an effective tool for teaching kids, because through them, kids are given the chance to learn and have fun at the same time.
