Dapitan Arcade is a homemaker’s paradise

March 22, 2015 6 Comments

I always hear about Dapitan Arcade whenever topics about house decors are mentioned… “Marami sa Dapitan nyan…”. We always frequent Banawe and I know isang tumbling na lang, Dapitan na, but I don’t have any reason to go there yet.

Then yesterday, Jeff had to go to a shop in Apo Street. Kung yung Banawe, isang tumbling, yung Apo Street, isang pitik na lang Kanlaon Street na which is the street where Dapitan Arcade is located. So even if I don’t have anything to buy, I asked if we can go here first.

How to go to Dapitan Arcade

We went to Dapitan via commute. From Quezon Avenue, we rode the jeep going to Quiapo and alighted at Kanlaon Street, landmark is Burger King at the corner. There’s a jeepney terminal, pay Php 7.50, and ask the driver that you’ll get down at Dapitan Arcade. You won’t miss it because you’ll see home decors lining up the street once the jeep passes by Dapitan.

I hope you’ll find this map helpful.

To manage your expectations, Dapitan Arcade is just a small place with around 3 or 4 alleys between stores. Whenever I see it on TV kasi, parang malaki. But don’t let the small stores and alleys fool you, it’s packed with treasures. It’s a homemaker’s paradise talaga, you’ll get mad at Henry Sy for selling those decorative balls at SM for a higher price, 3 for Php 100 lang dito.

Here’s how the aisles look like. You really have to have a keen eye just to see those treasures.

Dapitan Arcade is also a haven for party planners and wedding organizers. Lots of souvenir items and party favors in there.

Some of the smaller jars above are Php 50 each, if you get 3, Php 130 na lang.

These mason jars which were sold for over a hundred pesos online, Php 50 each yung transparent.

My favorite store is Crafty Chic Shop, they are Stall 67. I will come back for their wall metal tin signs and wooden signages kung may pagsasabitan na ako :p.

There are other stores across the street selling native baskets and racks. I’ll surely come back here.
