Fab Finds at Mandaue Foam (You’ll no longer need an Ikea Philippines!)

September 5, 2016 41 Comments

We bought a new sofa for the house at Mandaue Foam. Mandaue Foam is a nice stop if you’re shopping for quality furniture, they even customize too. Anyway, while looking inside the store, I can’t help but notice how some of the furniture were similar to Ikea. I’ve been meaning to make an Ikea vs. Mandaue Foam feature ever since I saw the Ikea folding table in Bangkok and the one from Mandaue Foam. So just for fun, here are some of my Ikea vs. Mandaue Foam finds. I’m not sure about the copyright laws in furniture design, or if Mandaue Foam sells the actual Ikea item and just change the model name.

I first saw this Norden folding table in Ikea Bangkok, I really wanted to buy it but it’s too heavy. The table is a space-saver because the two sides can be folded when not in use. It’s around 8,000 baht. But look, Mandaue Foam has the same folding table, almost the same color too. A bit expensive than Ikea, but considering shipping, pwede na!

Nag-enjoy ako looking at the Ikea and Mandaue Foam websites and IG so here are the other look-alikes.

same wheeled sofa bed

Ladder book shelf, same design, different color. The ladder book shelf is still on sale at the Banawe branch.

The red ladder bookshelf is from Mandaue Foam’s Instagram

What can you say about these rocking chairs? I’m planning to buy this rocking chair for Nanay, cheaper than the Ikea version for only Php 2,900. Meron pa sa Banawe branch nila.

I also fell in love with the red steel cabinet in Ikea, hindi lang kasya sa maleta, hehe. Good thing Mandaue Foam has one, I just can’t find a photo with the whole steel cabinet in it. Check the encircled portion….

Nesting tables are a nice addition in the living room, I love the minimalist feel of these. Mas colorful pa yung sa MF.

The sofa we bought looks like the Klippan sofa from Ikea. Klippan is a popular model of sofa from Ikea, just look at Pinterest and you can find plenty of things you can do with it. That’s why we bought the Stace sofa in Mandaue Foam, it looks simple with its clean lines and you can change the slip cover too just like Ikea’s Klippan.

ikea klippan sofa

Stace sofa has a 2 seater and 3 seater option, or you can get the two. The 2-seater is Php 7,800, 3-seater is Php 9,200. We got the 2- and 3-seater, sayang lang kasi the available colors are red and blue lang, so we got the blue one. Here’s the actual sofa, we covered the 2-seater because Gwen sits there when she does arts.

There you have it, so who wore it better?….. I mean, who needs an Ikea Philippines when you can shop at Mandaue Foam? Wala nga lang Swedish meatballs and chocolates…

Seriously, if you have an any furniture design that you like, try to ask for a quotation in MF, they offer a 10-year warranty too.

I also notice na may parehong design sila sa IKEA and nag-assemble na rin sila sa bahay. We have so many stuff from Mandaue Foam, if there are no sale I use the Mandaue Card for 10% discount.

I honestly didn’t notice that they have the same furniture with Ikea!! Wow! But, I’m thinking if they would get sued from this? Anyway, I think it’s nice that can customize and the 10yr warranty’s the best! 😉

Yes, pinag ipunan din muna namin yan 🙂 Pag may Mandaue Card ka, may 20% off pa for non-sale items. I think ang nearest sa Laguna is yung Las Pinas branch nila.
