Happy Birthday Pilipinas! May gift kami sa iyo

June 9, 2015 9 Comments

On June 12, it will be the 117th birthday of our beloved country, Pilipinas. Believe it or not, I’m still proud to be a Filipino, ang sarap maging Pilipino. At dahil birthday ng Pilipinas, Jollibee wants us to think of a gift on this special day.

Sometimes, I’m saddened because kids these days don’t know how to use po at opo since they are now versed in English.

Christian and Hong, our friends from Germany

friends we met in Bohol, Magalie and Lauren

Meet our friends we met during our travels. We met Christian and Hong in Hong Kong, and when they came here to visit, we volunteered to show them around and introduce Pinoy food to them. We ate at Aling Tonya’s in Dampa Macapagal Blvd., they loved it and they came back there to eat during the rest of their stay, hanggang bago sila umalis sa airport.

The two girls were Magalie and Lauren. We met them in Bohol last September, we bonded over cold San Miguel Beer at our resort and we encouraged them to go back to the Philippines and we’ll be happy to show them around.

Hmmmm, DOT should hire us, what do you think? Kidding, what I’m trying to say is that we should be ambassadors of our country. Let’s show the world that #itsmorefuninthePhilippines.

Suportahan ang gawang Pinoy.

Ika nga ng billboard ng Bench, #lovelocal. Sa totoo lang, mas kampante pa akong magsuot at gamitin ang mga sapatos na gawang Marikina kaysa yung mga made in China. We have a lot of products that are considered world-class. Filipino artists and entrepreneurs have great products that’s why let’s support them to thrive in this competitive business.

Maglakbay sa Pilipinas.

Batanes, Philippines

Philippines has 7,107 islands, more or less. There are 81 provinces, ilan na ang napuntahan mo?

Mamang sorbetero in Vigan

In traveling the Philippines, we are also helping the local economies.

Pansit, sinigang, sisig, lechon, kare-kare, empanada, longganisa, kilawin, isama mo pa ang langhap-sarap na Chickenjoy sa Jollibee, Filipino cuisine is a smorgasbord of flavors.

Jollibee is already part of the Philippine tradition. There is nothing like this in this world. I like how this chain is integrating Filipino values specially to the children. Proud to be PINOY!

This is nice reminder especially with independence day happening this week. Filipinos has a lot of positive traits and beautiful culture and attractions so we should promote and appreciate them.

We can all become ambassadors of the country by promoting the beauty of the Philippines to other nations, and it’s not necessary that we receive payment to do so. That’s when I do whenever I stay in another country. 🙂
