Let’s count!

December 3, 2012 4 Comments

Gwen started counting a few months back, she championed 1 to 10. We slowly added numbers 11 to 20, and we even taught her to count in Tagalog, isa hanggang sampu.

Now, the little-miss-independent who doesn’t want to be taught can still count….only with some numbers missing. Whenever we try to correct her by interrupting or saying the numbers while she’s counting, she will stop us and say, “Gwen na!”. She will repeat counting all by herself.

So, ladies and gentlemen, let’s hear from our mathematician…

1,2,3 in English:

one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, teeeen! (proud na proud with conviction and a loud voice)

eleven, twelve, FOURTEEN, fifteen, SIXteen, TWENY! (at least slang ang 20!)

I don’t know where did the other numbers go…. yung 13, unlucky number siguro kaya tinanggal na nya =)

Tagalog naman!

Isa, dalawa, ANIM, pito, SIYAM, sampu!

Saan napunta ang 3, 4, 5 at 8?

Haha. Nakakatuwa ang mga kids ngayon. They wouldn’t want us to correct them na once matuto na sila on their own.
My daughter naman counts in Japanese ng 1-10. Masarap silang turuan ksi they are like sponges, ano? They easily absorb everything 🙂

i was really surprised to see Gwen’s counting video then.. good job mommy and daddy. i so envy the fact that kids’ education back home is taken seriously by both parents. here, it’s all up to the mom. i’m just sooo disappointed when Alex claps at sooae for counting in korean but not correcting her with the missing numbers. sooae still can’t count up to 10 in both languages (english and korean) wihtout my assistance. and she’s mostly bulol.. i don’t know if nagpapa cute lang sya or kung ginagaya ba nya daddy nyang super bilis magsalita when talking to someone on the phone..
