When I was still shopping for baby clothes, I said to myself that I will dress up Gwen like an adult. No cutesy baby clothes, well, months after I gave birth, I ate my words and shopped for additional baby clothes, guess what it is… baby onesies!

Since Gwen started eating solid food, I planned to buy her a high chair. I think a high chair will be the most useful baby gear that she can have. Besides, I think she deserves one luxury item, after all, her crib and stroller are already hand-me-downs. Another advantage of having a high chair is that the child will learn the value of eating together as a family because she can join on the table while they eat. It’s also an opportunity to teach a child table manners this early.
I like the high chair to be simple, not bulky and no hanky-pankies like toys hanging, musical buttons thingie… Here are some of the baby high chairs we liked:

Tripp Trapp is tagged as “the chair that grows with the child”. Well, it should be because of its price tag. We checked it at Mothercare Trinoma and it costs around Php 15, 000 and that does not include the baby set attachment yet.

When I was still single, I already got a Sun Life life insurance plan and a Loyola pension plan. It was a good thing that I started to save for myself early on because most of our earnings now go to Gwen’s immunizations (*sigh*). But I still have to resume the Loyola plan because I wasn’t able to pay the premium for two consecutive years after they moved their office and also stopped sending their collector to our office. If budget permits, I’m planning to persuade Jeff on getting his own term life insurance too. It’s not that important when he’s still single but having a family that relies on him is a different and serious matter.
At 5 months and 6 days old, Gwen’s pediatrician gave the go signal to start on solid food. Her pedia advised to start on cereals first and recommended Cerelac. For two weeks, cereals were to be given once a day, preferably between 9 am to 12 noon. I feel like a stage mom, I’m so excited! And guess what, she likes it very much, she’s very eager to open her mouth once she sees the spoon. The few tablespoons we prepared were gone in minutes. Good job baby!

If you’re a new mom and you’re experience pain in your thumb and wrist area, then you’re experiencing DeQuervain’s Tendonitis or New Mom Syndrome. Pain is caused by the inflammation of tendons in the thumb and arises from repetitive lifting of baby improperly. I happen to notice this shooting pain on my wrist when Gwen is 4 months old and I took care of her for one week because we let go of Yaya#3. I was constantly carrying Gwen at that time. I just shrugged off the pain for weeks unsuspecting that baby carrying is the culprit. But since the pain won’t go away, I googled it and found out that I’m not the only one having this pain.
So, along with my research on lipofuze reviews, I searched for tips on how to treat/manage New Mom Syndrome:
I just realized that packing baby stuff is difficult when traveling. While we practice packing light when we’re traveling, things are just different when traveling with baby. I can never compromise her safety and comfort when it comes to her needs. On our last trip, I made sure she has more than enough diapers, clothes, blanket, formula (although I still breastfeed), distilled water and baby bottles. We brought the whole house literally, as you can see on the photo from the previous post. The baby has the biggest bag!
One of the things that made the bag bulky is the Chicco Sterilizer. It’s a must to bring this. One officemate saw the sterilizer when we’re unpacking and she said that there’s a portable bottle sterilizer that can sterilize 4 bottles instead of 6 or 8. It’s just small so it’s convenient for traveling. Had I known that there’s one, I should have checked it on stores.
Other options I thought of before our trip were to use a sterilizing solution or sterilizing tablets from Chicco, but I’m still not convinced that it’s safe so scratch that. Another option is to buy Avent Tempo Nursers or Playtex Drop Ins but Jeff didn’t approve because it uses plastic liners and it’s also not good for baby and environment, plus it’s expensive.
So I guess my option is to buy a portable bottle sterilizer to save me from carrying a bulky one. I hope Chicco has portable ones too, I like this brand because of the warranty and electronic parts are readily available.
