Breastmilk storage failed

Before leaving for Hong Kong, I tried to pump and store milk for Gwen so that she can still have breastmilk while I was away. I used my feeding bottles as storage and put them inside the fridge for 3 days because I don’t have breastmilk storage bags yet. When I already bought Nanny bags from SM, I transferred the milk without mixing them, separate bottles went to separate bags too. When I tested the oldest bag, thawed to room temperature, the breastmilk smelled funky and tasted sour. I don’t know what I did wrong, but I failed on my attempt in storing my breastmilk. =(

Meanwhile, I have to study on how to get rid of acne my skin is not getting any better. And I can’t just use over-the-counter products because some products might interfere with breastfeeding.

Makeshift hammock

One thing that parents with a baby don’t want to occur is a power interruption especially at night. This means endless crying from the baby and a numb and tired arms from carrying the baby just to make her sleep. Well, that’s our situation the other night, so out of desperation, Jeff made a makeshift hammock or duyan.

Using a bed sheet, pillows, a pair of hangers, strong mountaineering ropes from Jeff and a sleeping baby, we got ourselves a makeshift hammock. We had some peace for the night because of this…

I just saw from photos of a friend in FB during her baby shower these denim diapers. I find them cute and when I searched it online, it’s from Huggies, Huggies Jeans diapers. They are priced a little higher than regular diapers though, but absorbency is the same with regular plain looking ones…

Another loyalty card from SM, it’s for mommies, it’s for babies, and it’s PINK! It’s the SM Baby Company’s Mom Card, just like the SM Advantage Card, it rewards customers with points for every purchase in SM Department Store and Baby Company stores. Points can then be used to redeem Baby Company items in any SM Department store and Baby Company stores. When you buy Baby Company items, it automatically gains 4 points. Ordinary purchases from SM Department Store gains 1 point.

Safe beauty products when breastfeeding

Here I go again, after wondering about safe beauty products during pregnancy before, I’m now studying safe beauty products when nursing. And I thought I could go back to my skin regimen and have blemish-free skin once again right after giving birth. I’m confused because there are a lot of contradicting studies regarding the use of skin care products when breastfeeding. I’ve read them all including tatoo removal studies. But one thing’s for sure thought, use of anything with retinoic acid or retinol is a big no-no. That means, sad news for me because my derma product I’ve been using has that ingredient. I need to find new alternatives and read more on skin care…

We went to American Women’s Bazaar last Tuesday to have my Saya Baby Carrier exchanged to a larger size. It’s my first time to go to the American Women’s Bazaar but I might frequent this because they have unique items not found in malls and Divi. Products include native handicrafts, handmade jewelries, bath and body products, home decors, baby items, specialty foods, and even some best male enhancement products.

I saw cute and unique looking baby items from Babinski Baby. I got these red/black dress (Php 450) and the swaddler wrap (Php 400) for Gwen.

I love outfits that can pass up as an adult outfit for Gwen, nothing too cute and baby-ish.
