My little ballerina meets The Prima Ballerina at Ballet Manila

October 3, 2016 11 Comments

Gwen took ballet lessons when she was 4 before she entered Prep school. She watches Peppa Pig then and Peppa goes to ballet. So when I asked her if she wants to enroll in a class, she said yes. She loved every part of it and is always looking forward to her Saturday classes. In our part, we signed her up to improve her social skills. Gwen has separation anxiety, during her Junior Kinder days, her yaya was inside the classroom the entire school year because she cries after realizing she’s just her with her classmates. But during her ballet lessons, she goes inside the room all by herself, plays with her classmates, and happily dances and twirls. Aside from tremendous improvement that we noticed in her social skills, it also has benefits in her posture and confidence.

She always tell me that she misses dancing ballet, I’d tell her that she’s going to one in the summer. But an invite came for Gwen to try the ballet lessons at the newly opened The Lisa Macuja School of Ballet Manila at the 4th level of Fisher Mall in Quezon City. You know what’s so surreal, they will be taught by THE Prima Ballerina herself, Ms. Lisa Macuja-Elizalde.

What’s on sale at S&R Members Treat 2016

September 30, 2016 2 Comments

S&R Members Treat Sale for 2016 starts today, September 30 until October 2. I hope we can drop by after work tomorrow. Jeff got his membership renewed last Monday and took the chance to check out what’s on sale or if there are Early Bird promos. I’ve found some Buy 1 Take 1 deals on display already, and some items are less Php 100 but I wish prices will be slashed off during the sale.

Finallly, my curiosity was satisfied when I got the chance to visit the newly opened Landers Superstore. I pass by Landers everyday but we didn’t apply for a membership yet. Jeff and I are still choosing between getting a membership at Landers or renewing our S&R membership. Thankfully, my friend Trixie, is already a member, and she agreed to accompany us to Landers (user-friendly lang hehehe).

On my way to Financial Freedom

September 20, 2016 Leave a Comment

Everyone’s dream is to have financial freedom. That one day when you don’t have to worry about money and you just do what you want to do and go where you want to go. Just like what I’ve read from Rich Dad, Poor Dad, you let the money work for you and not the other way around.

When I was still single, I’m glad that I already got a life insurance with investment. I also opened a savings account that early and diligently saved part of my salary.

But you know, life happened. I got married and started a family. Before, I was only making financial decisions for myself that’s why it’s easy to keep track of my finances. Now, I can’t keep track of everybody’s expenses and before I know it, there’s nothing left for our savings. Ooooops, I know, I know, it should be Income minus Savings, then make do on what’s left. But it’s soooo hard.
