Pilipinas Shell celebrates Pinoy Parents’ Day

September 17, 2016 Leave a Comment

Everywhere in the world, every parent’s goal is to keep their families safe and happy. They work hard, give selflessly, and do whatever they can for the sake of their family without expecting anything in return.

In the Philippines, parents have their own special way of taking care of their families. From preparing their child’s baon, to picking up stranded loved ones during typhoons, or to simply being there during the moments their children need them the most – a parent’s love is truly hard to match. On their special day, it is only fitting to honor and give back to these unsung heroes of every family.

As part of Shell Specials, Pilipinas Shell is putting the spotlight on all the nanays and tatays through celebrating Pinoy Parents’ Day. On September 17, parents who will gas up at any of the participating Shell stations nationwide will receive a treat from Lazada, the country’s leading online store. This gift is Shell’s special way to give back to all hardworking Pinoy parents, which they can use to treat themselves on their special day.

In the Kitchen: Mushroom Salpicao with Filippo Berio Olive Oil

September 13, 2016 11 Comments

In the Kitchen will be the category where I will post some of the recipes I cook for my family. I promise you these are super-duper easy recipes because I’m really not an expert in the kitchen plus the fact that I don’t want recipes with so many steps/how-tos. Just 4-6 instructions, anything more than that, I skip the page of my recipe book and look for simpler recipes. So newbies in the kitchen, I hope you’ll try my recipes or suggestions and let’s share kitchen secrets!

It’s been a while since I shared a recipe, well, I haven’t been adventurous in the kitchen until last weekend. My family got tired of eating meat and we wanted something light for a change. So last Sunday night, I cooked something for Jeff that will be a perfect pair for his craft beer.

Shop more, pay lesser

September 9, 2016 Leave a Comment

I’m an online shopping advocate and I wish more moms discover and realize the advantages of shopping online. One obvious reason is that it’s a time-saver, we all know how traffic can get really bad in EDSA and other parts of Metro Manila. There was an instance when I have to buy something for Gwen’s school project, I was in and out of the mall in 1 hour but I got stuck in traffic for 3 hours… total waste of time on the road. My energy got drained due to traffic too, I don’t have the time and the energy to do more things. With online shopping, a few clicks here and there won’t drain your energy, just chill and wait for your package at your doorstep.

But did you know that online shopping can also save you money? It’s possible with Paylesser.com.

Fab Finds at Mandaue Foam (You’ll no longer need an Ikea Philippines!)

September 5, 2016 41 Comments

We bought a new sofa for the house at Mandaue Foam. Mandaue Foam is a nice stop if you’re shopping for quality furniture, they even customize too. Anyway, while looking inside the store, I can’t help but notice how some of the furniture were similar to Ikea. I’ve been meaning to make an Ikea vs. Mandaue Foam feature ever since I saw the Ikea folding table in Bangkok and the one from Mandaue Foam. So just for fun, here are some of my Ikea vs. Mandaue Foam finds. I’m not sure about the copyright laws in furniture design, or if Mandaue Foam sells the actual Ikea item and just change the model name.
