Simple milestones become extraordinary with a Jollibee Kids Party

May 4, 2015 7 Comments

Filipinos love celebrations, I think it’s a way of sharing our blessings to other people. Whether it’s just a simple milestone or a big event, it will always be meaningful when celebrated with your loved ones and of course, at a place close to our hearts.

You can never go wrong with having a Jollibee Kids Party that’s why we celebrated Gwen’s 1st birthday at Jollibee. It’s a hit for the kids and the kids at heart, everyone loves Jollibee.

For TV host, former Olympian and mommy of five, Christine Jacob-Sandejas, the moving up of her youngest son, Jaime, from preschool to grade school was a reason to treat the whole family to a Jollibee Kids Party.

Gymboree Sta. Rosa is now open!

April 30, 2015 1 Comment

First things first, this post is not just a press release about Gymboree Sta. Rosa, but a personal post to congratulate my friend, Dew of Momster Teacher, for their newest business venture. The people behind the very successful Brain Train Review & Tutorial Center are also the ones who brought in Gymboree Play & Music Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Road Trips with Kids? How to Enjoy the Experience

April 27, 2015 Leave a Comment

Every parent knows, or will know, the headaches and pains of having hyperactive children in the car during a long road trip. I feel you. I know how it’s like to drive up to Baguio in a cramped SUV with little children. It gets noisy and messy and migraine-inducing to the point that you almost want to give up on the trip and just go home.

Don’t worry. Not only does it get better with time, but here are a few tips and tricks I’ve learned during my time with toddlers in the backseat. Try these out and it’ll definitely help you deal with your own children during a long road trip!

Gwen’s first heartbreak

April 27, 2015 25 Comments

Do you remember the TV commercial about the yaya riding a tricycle while her alaga looks out from the window? I’m not sure if it’s for a hotdog or pancit canton commercial, basta I’m searching for it in YouTube and I came across this Rebisco commercial. May ganito rin pala but I’m pretty sure there’s another one hindi ko lang maalala.

Cheaper vaccines at Jacob’s Ladder Immunization Center

April 24, 2015 18 Comments

We all know that having our children vaccinated is a must for their protection against diseases, but it’s also a fact that completing that immunization chart costs an arm and a leg. I swear, when Gwen finished her series of “shots” when she was around 2 years old, I was relieved. Parang natapos na ako sa gastos. Coughing up 3,000-5,000 pesos every pedia visit is no joke. Now that Gwen is 4 years old, our pedia reminded us that it’s time for her booster shots especially the chicken pox since uso daw ngayon.

Gwen’s Recognition Day + Multiple Intelligence Tweet & Win is back!

April 14, 2015 27 Comments

It was Gwen’s Recognition Day last March 25, 2015. Gwen’s classes ended a week before that and her adviser said that they will just call if the student will attend the recognition day. The recognition day will be just for pre-school students who will be incoming Grade 1 and Junior Kinder students who have special awards and honors. To tell you honestly, we weren’t expecting that we will be called for the recognition day. Just the fact that Gwen finished the school year is a BIG accomplishment for us! If you know my struggles….Gwen had a serious case of separation anxiety, so for the first three months, I needed to accompany her inside the classroom. And for the rest of the year, si Ate Rose naman ang kasama sa loob ng classroom. There was a time na nagpapaiwan na, but after that long Christmas vacation, ayaw na ulit magpaiwan sa loob.

But despite that, Gwen still showed enthusiasm to learn. She actively participates in their activities, kaya nga her adviser told us na wag patigilin sa school kasi gusto naman mag-aral. We thought of pulling her out na kasi because of her separation anxiety. Buti na lang Teacher Airene advised us not to and just let Ate Rose inside their room if that will appease her.

Gwen was consistent in being one of the top students in class, o ha! From first to fourth quarter, it’s either 2nd or 3rd honor. She also participated in the school’s Reading contest and Math Quiz Bee. Yung Reading, CVC words lang naman because the school specializes in reading.

Anyway, March 25 came and it’s Recognition Day.
