Last week, Gwen developed rashes on her bum. Since she was born, she never had skin problems like this because her skin is not that sensitive. I don’t know what happened to her skin, but maybe it’s because of the meds she was taking last week because of her cough (antibiotics + cough syrup) that made her urine react to her bum’s skin. Aside from applying Drapolene every nappy change, I also applied Johnson’s baby powder.

While I was shopping at Sesou in Trinoma for Gwen’s insect repellant spray, I got curious with Mommy Patch Body Dusting Powder, it’s talc-free and paraben-free.

The Smurfs 2 in McDonald’s Happy Meals

The Smurfs 2 is the latest theme for McDonald’s Happy Meal in the Philippines. After the minions craze (which we didn’t collect btw), it’s the Smurfs Happy Meal toys that we are excited about. Well, Jeff loves Smurf as a kid and he has a few pieces also from the McDonald’s Smurf Happy Meal toys released last 2011.

Bento trick for my picky eater

Gwen became a picky eater since she turned one. Before, whatever is on the spoon in front of her she eats. But ever since she learned how to say no, that’s where our dilemma started. She likes corn, scrambled egg, suman, pancit (doesn’t like spaghetti), lugaw (doesn’t like champorado)… For fruits, she eats grapes, bananas and apples. Pero laging konting-konti lang, we even joked about it that she should always be in buffets, because she just wants to taste everything.

I got interested with cute bentos, originally, it’s my plan to prepare her a bento for her baon at school. At the start of July, her teacher informed me that in celebration of Nutrition Month, the students should bring a healthy baon at school, no biscuits allowed. I got excited so I made a trip to Saizen to buy my first bento loots, lunch boxes, heart-shaped and star-shaped cutters and rice mold.

Gwen’s 3 weeks at school

It’s been weeks since we stopped sending her to her toddler class. She doesn’t mention about school anymore, but it’s okay. I accepted the fact that she’s not ready yet. She’s happy at home, singing and dancing along Barney and other YouTube videos. She likes free play, she likes to do a lot of things at her own time, so be it.

While browsing her school’s FB page, I saw some of their activities at school. Every Friday, they have this cooking activity with the kids, looks fun. Gwen was able to attend one activity, the pizza pandesal making. I saw her photos with her cousin Erhyne, saved it to my laptop, souvenir hehe.

Sick…here we go again

It’s fever, cough and colds season once again and the kids are the ones who get hit…badly. Last Tuesday, Gwen had a 38.6 C fever, but had gone down with the help of Biogesic. She had no appetite at all. By Thursday, there’s no fever but it’s the cough and colds that didn’t gave her a sound sleep. Her 2 cousins were scheduled for a check-up at their pedia in St. Luke’s because of…. well, fever too.

Toddler school no more???

Ayaw ko na mag-school…

I heard Gwen said this on her 3rd week of going to a toddler class. At first, I dismissed it as one of her tantrums because hey, she loves school. She enjoyed her summer class for 4 weeks last April. She didn’t cry every time we left her at the class. She was always proud to show her stars to us at home, she’s happy at school.
