The S and the R

March 4, 2013 Leave a Comment

After typing the title, I suddenly miss S&R, the supermarket hihi, but no, this is about my toddler’s cute vocabulary.

Gwen is very talkative. Some say her vocabulary’s development is ahead of kids her age (she’s 2 yrs. and 2 months old). I enjoy talking to my toddler even if her words are still limited. Every day, I’m surprised of the new words she learned from TV, from Nanay, from her cousins, etc…

I find it cute though that she can’t still pronounce words with S and R. “S” becomes “T” and “R” becomes “W”.

March 3, 2013 Leave a Comment

Moms and dads, heads up! Here’s a workshop that I’m sure will be helpful for mom- and dad-to-bes, “A Beautiful Journey for Expecting Parents”. It’s a free workshop brought to you by Xpert.ph. Your pregnancy questions will be answered by an expert, Dra. Diana Sarmiento and at the same time, you’ll also learn how to capture your pregnancy journey by taking beautiful photos. Ms. Sofia Genato of The Stork Studio will teach you how. Oh how I wish there’s a workshop for this when I was still pregnant….

In the Kitchen: Spicy Tuna Pasta

February 25, 2013 12 Comments

In the Kitchen will be the category where I will post some of the recipes I cook for my family. I promise you these are super-duper easy recipes because I’m really not an expert in the kitchen plus the fact that I don’t want recipes with so many steps/how-tos. Just 4-6 instructions, anything more than that, I skip the page of my recipe book and look for simpler recipes. So newbies in the kitchen, I hope you’ll try my recipes or suggestions and let’s share kitchen secrets!

It’s been a while since I posted a recipe. I always cook on weekends but always forgot to take a photo for me to blog, hihi. Anyway, this Spicy Tuna Pasta is perfect since this Lenten season so that you’ll have something to cook for Meatless Fridays.

This is Jeff’s favorite, and also my favorite too because this is so easy (and fast) to make!

Iloilo-Guimaras 2013: Part 1

February 13, 2013 20 Comments

First trip of the year is Iloilo with a side trip to Guimaras, January 18-21, 2013. Our friends in the office are always on the look-out for promo fares, so when Tiger Airways had a sale last July 2012, we immediately booked tickets to Iloilo to watch the Dinagyang Festival. 8 adults and 2 kids, we’re so excited because may kalaro si Gwen during the trip.

Dinagyang Festival, yup, that’s the main reason why we booked on those dates, kaya lang nagkamali kami ng bilang, the following week pa pala yung Dinagyang, kamusta naman? So we included Guimaras in our itinerary since there’s not much to see and do in Iloilo.

We had an early morning flight…

Tikoy recipes you should try

February 10, 2013 16 Comments

Happy Chinese New Year! You know what I’m looking forward to every Chinese New Year? It’s time for tikoy (or nan giao) once again. I love the sweet and chewy combination. Sometimes, though, I get sawa because it’s oily, sliced-tikoy-dipped-in-egg-then-fried, that’s the way tikoy is cooked until Nanay and I discovered more tikoy recipes.

The mommy who has no back-up

February 8, 2013 Leave a Comment

I’m one of those moms who considered Ipads, tablets and smartphones a high-tech nanny. If I have a restless toddler, or we’re in the car and I want her to sit down, or just anytime I want to do something, I hand her my phone. And just like that, Gwen already knew what she’ll look for with a few slides on the screen. It still puzzles me how she learned to open apps and watch videos.

Because of this, Jeff kept reminding me to back-up my files especially photos and videos in case Gwen accidentally deletes it. It’s in my to-do list for the longest time, I swear, but but but….

Earlier, this was displayed on my phone…

All photos and videos got deleted
