Wonderful WAHMderful Life workshop

February 3, 2013 2 Comments

Last Saturday, I was able to attend It’s a WAHMderful Life Workshop by Manila Workshops and Martine of Daintymom, it’s a whole day affair at the Studio SnR in Ortigas. This is the second series of the WAHMderful Life workshop, the first happened last October 2012. This second workshop is more specific and tackles real ways on the road to being a WAHM such as freelance writing and virtual assistance.

Unilab is one of the sponsors of this event, supporting all the WAHMs and WAHM-wannabes out there.

On breast health: impromptu biopsy

January 28, 2013 19 Comments

This will be a two-part post on breast health, if you’re following me on Twitter, you know that Nanay underwent mastectomy last December because of a malignant tumor in her right breast. That’s why I got so busy because I was the one accompanying her to the hospital for laboratories since November. Thank God it went well and Nanay is fully recovered.

I learned my lesson from Nanay, that I should also visit a doctor for check-up, since I also have a lump in my breast. I had it checked twice pa lang, with Dra. Diana Cua at Medical Plaza Makati, and the other doctor at Makati Medical Center. They said before that it’s benign and no need to undergo surgery because it’s still small. Few months ago, I noticed another lump in my right breast, kaya lang I wasn’t sure if it’s blocked milk ducts since I’m still breastfeeding.

When Nanay decided to pay Dra. Cua’s clinic for a second opinion post-mastectomy, nakisabay na rin ako since I still have my records there. Nanay got her good news that she doesn’t need chemotherapy nor radiation nor other medicines because her case is not a type of cancer, hooray!

Nakaka-smile pa ako before the check-up…

My princess

January 17, 2013 6 Comments

Gwen is fascinated on being a princess these days. Funny thing is, whenever she sees someone in a dress or flowy skirt, she’ll call it a princess, kahit naka-pambahay o pantulog ka pa basta naka-dress.

Yesterday, we checked out the mini bazaar at ELJ Bldg. and Jeff saw crown trinkets. The daddy insisted that we buy her one.

Now, this is her latest ‘do…

I love you my princess! <3

Oh my 2012… Holler 2013!

January 5, 2013 1 Comment

I’ve been looking at my blog’s archives for 2012 and realized that I’m still the delinquent lazy blogger that I am. One month it’s full of updates, the next month it’s silent. But one thing’s for sure, I’m still a hands-on mommy to my now 2-year-old, every milestone she had in 2012 was not missed.

You see, I’m always the Mrs. Optimistic, I’d like to think that I have a sort-of selective amnesia, I forget and likes to forget bad things. I always want to remember and talk about happy things. That is good right, counting your blessings and remembering happy memories is less stressful than worrying about problems. So for my 2012, it was a great year! It has ups and downs, but still, it has more ups than downs.
