Ramilo Bite Center in Cavite + First aid para sa nakagat ng aso

March 15, 2019 4 Comments

It was February 14 last year when Gwen’s yaya was bitten by our neighbor’s dog. Nakawala yung aso nila, Gwen and Ate Yong were outside that time, tumakbo daw si Gwen upon seeing na tumatakbo yung aso palapit sa kanya. Binuhat sya ni Ate Yong kaya ang nakagat sya ang nakagat sa binti. The dog’s owner can’t show proof na may rabies vaccine yung aso nya that’s why we asked the owner to provide money and we’ll bring Ate Yong to the nearest Animal Bite Center.

That same night, pumunta kami sa Emergency section ng Dasmarinas City Medical Center, may Animal Bite Treatment Center din kasing nakalagay dun. We were asked if may health card si yaya, kaya lang wala. Sinabi sa amin na the complete post-exposure vaccination will cost Php 12,000 kasi daw private hospital sila. Inadvise naman kami to go to San Lazaro in Manila or RITM in Alabang.

We just went home and asked for other options. A neighbor told us about Ramilo Bite Center located in Bahayang Pag-Asa, Imus, Cavite. This is just near us so we went there first thing in the morning. Dr. Melvin Ramilo was very accommodating, pinaliwanag nya rin pati sa owner ng aso na Category II na yung case since may sugat and vaccination is a must.

Categories of Rabies

  1. Clean the bite wound immediately with soap and water.
  2. Apply antiseptic like 70% isopropyl alcohol.
  3. Go to the nearest hospital with animal bite treatment center for further evaluation and treatment.

Price of anti-rabies vaccine in Ramilo Bite Center

Since the dog bite is Category II, we were advised to have 4 shots of anti-rabies vaccine as shown in the photo. The doctor also gave Tetanus Toxoid.

Tetanus Toxoid – Php 150
Anti-rabies vaccine – 750 (1st shot) / 700 (2nd-4th shot)
Total: Php 3,000

Eto lang yung advantage of going to Ramilo Bite Center, we paid 3,000 pesos only compared to 12k na sinabi sa amin sa private hospital. I was told na same lang ng efficacy or bisa yung injections. In private hospitals lang kasi, hindi nila pwedeng hatiin yung gamot since konti lang ang patients unlike in clinics and San Lazaro na pwede nilang gamitin yung remaining vaccine sa ibang patients.

Ramilo Bite Center is located in Bahayang Pag-Asa, Imus, Cavite. They are on Facebook, www.facebook.com/ramilobitecenter/. They are open Monday to Sunday, 8 am to 5 pm.
