Save time and money by using Gcash for bank transfer

August 13, 2019 8 Comments

When you’re planning and listing down your family’s expenses, do you include unnecessary miscellaneous expenses like ATM transaction fees when you use other banks or the service charges when you transfer money. Kahit pa pa-15 pesos or 50 pesos lang yun, if you add it up, malaki na rin yun, pangdagdag savings or travel fund.

Our bank started charging fees for inter-region cash deposits. Our accounts are still in Caloocan and whenever I need to deposit money from Cavite, there is a 50 pesos service charge per deposit. Such a hassle, aside from that is the waiting time of almost an hour kahit single transaction lang naman ang gagawin mo. We’re all busy moms and we could use that wasted time to more productive things.

That’s why I’m so thankful that there’s another way to transfer money without the fees in just a few clicks, Gcash!

GCash is the leading mobile wallet in the Philippines with 20 million users and 63,000 partner merchants. GCash is known for its financial services, which include the first fully mobile credit line through GCredit; the highest interest earning on savings through GSave; and accessible insurance and investment options through Invest Money and GCash Insure.

Through Gcash, I can deposit money to other bank accounts with no fees. So online shopping just got easier. I can also cash in money to my Gcash account and use that money to pay bills, buy load, and shop at partner merchants.

How to transfer money through Gcash:

1. Open your GCash app and select Cash in.

2. Choose from over-the-counter methods or online banking methods, which can also be found under Bank Transfer.

3. If you are transferring money to GCash from an international account, choose from one of the remittance options. GCash has partnered with money transfer channels such as Western Union, Moneygram and AlipayHK, which are popular among overseas Filipino workers.

4. If you choose over-the-counter cash-in, GCash has 15,000 partner outlets that will accept transfers to your GCash account. Choose one.

5. If you prefer to do online banking, there are 36 banks that will allow you to link your bank account with GCash so you can move your money from your bank to your GCash app. Make sure you check if your bank charges fees for such transfers.

I always load my Gcash wallet through their Pay & Go machines that can be found in Globe stores. See the related post or watch the video on how to cash in.

As of July 2019, the cash-in limit is Php 50,000 per day which is enough to cover most daily transactions.
