Father’s Day

June 22, 2011 Leave a Comment

First Father’s Day celebration was spent just by eating out at Mr. Jones, Greenbelt 5. It’s just the two of us since we went to Makati via commute, while Nanay monitors Gwen in the house. Just a quick early dinner for us enjoying good food.

Father's Day celebration at Mr. Jones

It’s funny how we don’t put so much importance before on Father’s/Mother’s Day but when we became parents, we realized that it’s worth the celebration.  And we look forward to celebrating it forever with our kid/kids.

Some tips for couples before the baby arrives

January 28, 2011 Leave a Comment

Just want to share some tips for preggy women and would-be parents that they must do before the baby arrives. Having a baby is the most wonderful thing for couples, but can also be demanding and can sometimes affect your relationship as a couple due to stress. It takes a lot of adjustments before first-time parents can get back to normal routine, this time with baby around.

I really had a hard-time coping the first few weeks, but now I caught up with mommyhood. Pre-pregnancy, of course, it’s common sense to shop for baby stuff and prepare the nursery. But I’d like to share some tips I soon realized I could have done before my delivery:

  • Enjoy long hours of sleep. Yes, sleep will be a luxury once you’re taking care of the baby. At present, I’m happy if I can have 3 hours straight of sleep.
  • Look for a nanny/yaya as early as possible. I started looking for a yaya on my 8th month, and it’s so hard to get a yaya nowadays. My due date came and still no yaya, it’s hard to move around the house with the baby chores added.
  • Go on a “babymoon”. You and your husband should spend more time together. You’ll definitely miss those days when it’s just “mr. & mrs.”.
  • Go on a date frequently. Go on dinner dates, eat plenty and have nice long conversation at your favorite restaurants.
  • Prepare your SSS Maternity and Philhealth forms early on. Make sure that your records are updated and you got the latest documents/forms from your HR. Read about: SSS Maternity Notification

To daddy…

January 1, 2011 1 Comment

Thank you…

for being the father of this gift, you’ll be more than perfect

for painting a smile on my face throughout my pregnancy

for putting up through my raging hormones

for always being the loving and understanding husband

for just being there…

daddy & gwen

My delivery is one heck of an experience, and knowing you, it might have given you a heart attack. But you’re decision to go through it with just the two of us made me proud. We did it, you made it happen. I felt helpless and tired after my delivery, you’re reassuring caress gave me strength. I sensed you’re overflowing happiness upon knowing that she’s out, and will be in your arms soon. Thank you for enduring the sleepless night.

And as you held her in your arms, I can only beam with pride because I have the two important persons in my life. My reason for living…

I’m used to taking care of you, it’s been me and you for the past 3 years. I miss taking care of you, I miss the undivided attention.I feel miserable not being able to do the things the same way before…

But with the latest addition, I know that things will be different, no longer me and you. But my love for you is still overflowing, and if I can only still give my undivided attention, if only there’s more than 24 hours a day…

A late birthday post

November 7, 2010 Leave a Comment

I just turned 29 last November 1 and while most people in Mall of Asia went trick-or-treating, we celebrated my birthday in advance in sheer simplicity. I don’t want an extravagant celebration, just a simple dinner with the ones I most loved. And since it’s my birthday, we decided to try a new restaurant, Sakae Sushi (read more about the food on my other blog). As much as I wanted to feast on sashimi, I have to be contented with the cooked ones, no raw varieties.

Meet Misis B

April 7, 2010 Leave a Comment

Misis B is 3 years blisfully married with J. Believes that they are still young so having kids is not in their plans not until Misis B reaches 29 or 30, which means that will be 1 or 2 years from now. This blog is started to chronicle Misis B’s journey on being a young wife and hopefully to being a mommy. B and J believes that marriage is a work in progress, that a journey to forever takes a lot of trials and hardwork, that married life is not all pure bliss. It’s not all “happily ever after” just like in the fairy tales, in reality, there are witches and evil elements waiting to be tackled.

Misis B and J were together since 1998 before they got married on January of 2007. They’ve come a long way from being college blockmates, they’ve grown through the years, slightly drifted apart but found themselves back in each other’s arms.

Join Misis B and J in this blog as they share to you everyday adventures and misadventures through married life.
