Weeks ago, I was luckily invited at the opening of the Lock & Lock store in Araneta Avenue. I was surprised because I thought they can only be found inside department stores. I have plenty of knick-knacks/abubot /anik-anik or whatever you call it that’s why containers from Lock & Lock come in handy. I’m sure mommies and daddies will find pleasure checking out Lock & Lock stores. Flood in the house for the first time

We live in Caloocan. I grew up in Caloocan. I’ve been living in the same house for over 20 years. It is normal for me to see flood in streets, even if it’s just a drizzle. But having water inside our house is a first time, =(. I will never forget you, Habagat.

Last Monday was the longest trip going home. We left the office at around 6:30 pm just when the heavy rain was pouring. We were along Edsa for a good 30 minutes until we reached Caloocan where traffic was bad because of flood. No, it wasn’t bad, it was the worst. To make the story short, Jeff had no choice but to park the car in a gasoline station and stay there for the night or until the flood water goes down. I, on the other hand, had to brave the floods just to go home for Gwen. I was home 12 midnight. Jeff was left in the car with just chocolates as food.

I haven’t slept because I’m worried about Jeff and afraid because of the non-stop rain. The next morning, the flood water is already at our front gate but I’m still not worried because it also reached that level in the past. Unfortunately, around 10 am, water came in at the whole ground floor. It’s not that high compared to others, just ankle-deep but still, it’s so heartbreaking to see the place where I grew up slowly decaying because of flood. =(

Board books lover

At an early age, I want Gwen to be a reader, a book lover. My love for reading started when I was in kindergarten, I would pretend to read the newspaper. The pretensions paid off though, I started reading way ahead than my classmates. In grade school, Nanay will always buy me Sweet Valley Twins books for me to read and exchange with my classmates. Sadly, I don’t have the luxury to read books anymore, and to buy books, they are so expensive nowadays. But still, I resist reading with ebooks, I still want to smell the pages of a new book and flip through its crisp pages. (I’m saving up for the Fifty Shades trilogy, btw)

Anyway, enough of me, and let me show you Gwen’s new board books. I have a Php 300 National Bookstore GCs, initially, I just want to buy new crayons and coloring books but when Jeff and I saw these board books, we bought them without hesitations.

My ultimate spampering day at The Spa

Once in a while, we need to take a halt from our daily grind. We all know that when it comes to our families, mommies will surely strive to provide and nurture our families even if it means sacrificing our own needs. I long forgotten how it feels to have an 8-hour sleep, I consider myself lucky to have 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep because Gwen still wakes up in the early hours of morning to breastfeed. During weekends, instead of sitting in the salon for a mani-pedi or for a hot oil, I’d rather spend it cuddling and playing with my princess. This routine eventually took its toll on my physical appearance. I always look “puyat”. And I always feel a tight knot on my shoulders.

So when an invitation from The Spa came to try their latest services, I was elated. It’s about time for some ME-time.
